ARoNite - The Crowned King

APTwater's ARoNite process is a hydrogen-based biological treatment system for the removal of nitrates and other oxidized contaminants from agriculturally impaired drinking water supply.
ARoNite systems are an excellent alternative to conventional Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Ion Exchange (IX) processes for nitrate removal in both water treatment and environmental remediation projects as they do not present owners with the permitting, cost, and complexity issues associated with brine handling and disposal.
ARoNite systems cultivate a naturally occurring biological culture on the surface of the ARoNite media. This biological culture then consumes inorganic carbon from alkalinity, phosphorus, and other trace nutrients directly from the influent stream to build cell mass. Nitrate from the influent stream is reduced using hydrogen gas as an electron donor in the metabolism process to produce harmless nitrogen gas and clean water. Over time, cell mass leaves the media and is discarded from the downstream filtration process. The end result is a biological process that directly consumes nitrate, inorganic carbon, and hydrogen without producing waste.
